Metro Atlanta Recovery Connections Announces National Recovery Month Walk & Rally

Metro Atlanta Recovery Connections will host a One and Half Mile Walk and Celebration, Saturday, September 11, 2010 @ 8:00 a.m., as
part of the National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month (Recovery Month)’s 21st anniversary and will address this year’s theme, “Join the Voices for Recovery: Now More Than Ever!” The walk will begin at 8:00 a.m. at the intersection of James P. Brawley Dr. SW & Martin Luther King Jr. Dr., continuing west on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and ending at Mozley Park Recreation Center, 1565 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SW. Rally begins at 10:00 a.m. at Mozley Park.
With an expected 1,000 participants, Metro-Atlanta Recovery Connection (MARC), a coalition of recovery community organizations, treatment centers, healthcare organizations, service providers, and advocacy groups, will lead a group of people in recovery. We will have many different service providers from the healthcare industry, as well as free food, free clothes, free health screenings, free t-shirts for first 1,000 participants, music, gospel choirs, dance groups of all ages, Kids Zone, and Senior Plus zone. A prayer tent with counseling will be available for those who wish to take part, and many other great activities.

Darnell, Fulton County Board of Commissioners; Chairman Eldrin Bell, Clayton County Board of Commissioners; Commissioner Ashlei Bell, Hall County Board of Commissioners.
